Icon Book & Paper Conference 2021 'Mod Cons: Modern Conservation. Modern Constraints. Modern Conveniences.'

The Calls for Participation in #IconBPG21 have been extended! Submissions for abstracts and demonstrations are being accepted until the end of 16 February 2021.

Call for abstracts (16 February 2021)
Submit a 500 word abstract that relates to the theme of Modern Conservation with an informal video introducing your topic to show your online capability. Selected authors will be offered the opportunity to present for 20 minutes on their topic. Post-prints will follow shortly after presentation.

The IIC is proud to announce that the 6th edition of the Student and Emerging Conservators Conference will follow the steps of our previous editions and take place in its due biennial date in Autumn of 2021.

This year's conference “The Faces of Conservation”, is being organised by a local committee from the NOVA School of Sciences and Technology, in Lisbon, Portugal.

ICON's Ceramics and Glass Group (CGG) and the Stained Glass Group (SGG) are delighted to announce a joint conference to be held on 16th and 17th October 2021. Papers on any aspect of ceramics, glass or stained glass conservation will be considered. Submissions on relevant scientific and historic research are also encouraged, as well as case studies which explore conservation treatments. We would also welcome student papers and posters.

International Conference - Curation and Conservation: Dress and Textiles in Museums

For the very first time, the International Conference of Dress Historians will take place in Italy (it will be possible to join also through a digital platform) at the Centre of Conservation and Restoration “La Venaria Reale” in Turin,Italy.

The 2021 edition, organised jointly by the Association of Dress Historians and the Centre of Conservation and Restoration, is titled “Curation and Conservation: Dress and Textiles in Museums” and the Call for Papers is now open and closes the 1st December 2020.

2021 International Course on the Conservation of Earthen Architecture

In light of the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting logistical challenges of organizing and hosting the course in February 2021, the course on the conservation of earthen architecture has been postponed for one year until February 12—March 11, 2022.

GCI are suspending their application process until February 15, 2021. Those who have already submitted their application at the time of this notice do not need to reapply. GCI will contact you next year to affirm your interest.

Terra 2022 - World Congress on the Study and Conservation of Earthen Architectural Heritage

In light of the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the logistical challenges, economic repercussions and current travel restrictions we are facing globally, Terra 2021 World Congress on the Study and Conservation of Earthen Architectural Heritage has been postponed to June 2022 and has been renamed Terra 2022. The new dates will be June 7-10, 2022, and the location will still be Santa Fe, New Mexico.
