This international conference will bring together academics and practitioners to discuss and rethink current practices in the global art world, in order to create long-term sustainable methods.

Submit a short bio and abstract (250 words) for an oral presentation (20 minutes average) at by June 1, 2020.

MUTEC International Trade Fair for Museums and Exhibition Technology 2020

MUTEC 2020 has announced that the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Germany will officially be supporting MUTEC 2020 as a partner and will host the 3rd edition of the ICOM Conference for Young Professionals as part of the trade fair. VOMO Leichtbautechnik, ibs tecnomara and Colandis will join as new exhibitors this year and will be revealing which products they will present at MUTEC. The conference programme is also expanding. In particular, Prevart will be organising two courses dealing with concepts for the preservation and recovery of cultural assets.

International Mountmakers Forum Conference

The Getty Museum is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the next International Mountmakers Forum conference - November, 10-12, 2020.

The International Mountmakers Forum is a non-profit organization supporting the mountmaking community. Objectives of this conference include fostering communication, promoting best practices, and disseminating current information regarding the profession.

Authors are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 250 words for the following formats:

• Full length papers (20 min.)
• Short talks (10 min.)
• Posters

Post-X Metals Conference - Call for Presentations

Location: Museum of London, Mortimer Wheeler House, 46 Eagle Wharf Rd, Hoxton, London N1 7ED

The ICON Archaeology and Metal Groups invite contributions for a one-day conference. The day will focus on the post-excavation treatment, storage and investigation of metal objects, with a focus on Cardiff University research into the use of desiccated microclimates to store archaeological iron and copper alloys. The conference will include guided tours of the Museum of London Archaeological Archive.

Conference-workshop: Icons in the Making

The conference-workshop Icons in the making has been rescheduled to January 25 and 26, 2021.

This conference-workshop invites art historians, conservators and conservation scientists to collectively analyse how visual effects in icons are created by the accumulation of layers, which, visible or invisible, participate fully in their final appearance. How to bring into dialogue different methods of analysis, historical, stylistic, iconographic and material, in order to understand the emergence of forms and the processes of creation?

Conservation Talks provides attendees with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in a supportive atmosphere. The concept is to give both conservation professionals and students the space to dynamically present their research in tiny, 10-minute speeches. Our aim for Conservation Talks: Big Research in Tiny Speeches is to share and spread the diversity of Belgian conservation research.
