An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Conservator to join the dynamic team at the Conservation and Museums Advisory Service (CMAS), based at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

About the role
CMAS has a multi-disciplinary team based at two conservation laboratories in Chippenham, providing a commercial conservation service for heritage organisations and individuals in the South West and beyond.

The Senior Conservator provides expert technical advice to the CMAS Manager and oversees all areas of the commercial conservation service and running the labs. Carrying out treatments on a wide range of materials - including archaeology, social history, archives, and ceramics, you will provide advice and guidance on preventative conservation, carry out site visits and deliver training for sector staff and volunteers.

The team also supports museums in Wiltshire to achieve national standards and become resilient organisations.
