3-month Internship starting March 2021
Location: Online hosted by The National Library of Scotland
Educational Stipend: £4,250 (tax free)
This conservation internship is possible through the generous support of the Clothworkers' Foundation.
Working under the supervision of the Head of Collections Care, the intern will undertake research into sector best practice in emergency planning and response. Alongside a review of the Library's current emergency planning documentation the intern will develop recommendations for the improvement of the Library's current provisions, including emergency response training.
This project-focused internship will allow the intern to build-up an area of knowledge and expertise in emergency planning. It will be an opportunity to develop research skills and will allow some virtual networking through benchmarking against the work of other institutions. The virtual internship model will allow the intern to work from the comfort of their own home but will also provide valuable work experience in this new post-COVID world using systems such as Microsoft Teams to keep in touch with the members of the Collections Care team. They will also have the opportunity to work with and learn from members of staff across the Library.
Please visit the Library's external recruitment site to apply . The closing date is 15th January 2021
