This includes technical analysis, the development of improved processes and materials for conservation treatment, alongside collection care and preventive conservation programs.

The conservation science section works in partnership with the Conservation team and collaborates with colleagues across the museum including Building Operations, Curatorial, Collection Management and Exhibition, Registration, Education, and Exhibition Planning and Design teams.
