The Patrimonium Foundation, through its Cycle of Virtual Conferences 2021, together with the Cultural Centre of Spain in Santo Domingo, ICOM-DO and APOYOnline, invite you to join the conference "How Fake Modigliani paintings end up in large collections, public and private ". The conference is open to the public, it will be on Wednesday, February 3 at 10:00 am, via the CCESD YouTube platform.
Modigliani died in 1920, and although it is known that soon after his death, fake works began to appear, this phenomenon has been increased in parallel with his recognition as an artist and the listing of his works on the Art Market.
Today the consequences of this are serious, with more and more fake works being discovered in large international exhibitions, private collections and even museums.
In this conference, the different agents involved will be discussed, the causes and consequences understood and possible solutions addressed.
The presentation will be given by Greta García Hernández, Senior Technician in Restoration of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Expert in Works of Art from the Institut Valencià de Conservació, Restauració i Investigació IVCR + i.
