Conservation projects from 15 European countries were distinguished in the 2008 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards, held in June. The annual awards are given to projects that promote best practice in the conservation of European cultural heritage and cover several categories including archaeological site interpretation, collection care and education and awareness-raising. The six top prizes recognised outstanding achievements in the Czech Republic, Greece, the Netherlands, Spain and Romania. More information can be found on the Europa Nostra Awards 2008 site.
