ART AND ARCHITECTURE CONSERVATION TRAINING IN EUROPE: Relevant Experiences and Mastering of Conservation Methods
Call for Papers
The Heritage Conservation Department of Vilnius Academy of Arts, which offers training in 6 areas of conservation (easel paintings, mural paintings, sculpture, textile, architecture and interior), is organising an event for teachers and students of European higher education institutions. The event will provide a platform to present tasks of course papers and graduate thesis dealt with by students together with their tutors, that reveal the issues faced by conservators of different countries, their solutions and reflection in the study programmes. It is hoped that this event will become a tradition enabling participants to know each other better and providing an opportunity for exchange of valuable experience of training future conservation specialists.
Teams of students and teachers (student(s) + teacher) are invited to propose topics for their joint presentations on both traditional and unconventional conservation objects tackled during the studies. Presentations on experimental art and architecture conservation projects carried out at the laboratories of the higher education institutions are also invited.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference shall be run remotely.
Duration of presentations: up to 20 minutes.
Language of the conference: English.
Annotations of presentations (up to 300 words) and biographies of the speakers (up to 200 words) are expected at the e-mail address email@example.com by 16th of November, 2020.
Conference papers are intended to be published in the academic journal Acta Academiae Artium Vilnensis in 2022 or early 2023. All papers shall be reviewed by two reviewers and included into the SCOPUS and EBSCO databases.
