Linked Conservation Data introductory webinar: Why Linked Data?
Registration open: https://www.ligatus.org.uk/lcd/meeting/webinar-1
IIC is contributing to the Linked Conservation Data consortium (see here: https://www.iiconservation.org/content/linked-conservation-data-project), investigating the potential of Linked Data for conservation documentation.
The first event of the project will be a webinar on the 3rd of May 2019 from 3:30-5:30pm BST/7:30-9:30am PT.
The program includes Thanasis Velios and Kristen St.John introducing the Consortium and the basic premises of Linked Data. Then there will be three presentations by different groups aligned with cultural heritage/conservation who are either developing Linked Data projects or are studying the potential in their areas:
Case studies from TMS conservation: Jay Hoffman, Vadim Soshkin, Danielle Uchitelle (Gallery Systems)
DISCO user survey and Linked Data plans: Dennis Wuthrich (Farallon Geographics), Robert Sanderson (Getty)
Conservation data and Research Space: Dominic Oldman (British Museum)
