Emerging Professionals: Making a Career in Conservation
The Textile Group welcomes abstracts and/or ideas for papers, presentations, or group workshop sessions concerning the challenges presented to students and emerging professionals during the course of their education and after. With speakers already confirmed, we are looking for additional presenters on a wide range of related issues, potentially including:
• Grants and funding
• Going self-employed
• Contract work
• Attending and/or presenting at conferences
Abstracts should be between 150-250 words in English, excluding title and author contact information (name, title, mailing address, email, telephone). Please send abstracts by September 1st 2020 to Kelly Grimshaw firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "Icon Textile EP Event". Feel free to get in touch if you want to run an idea past us before writing an abstract.
There will be a short Q&A panel on each day and if you are interested in participating, either additionally as a speaker or individually on the panel, please contact either Kelly Grimshaw or one of the Textile Group committee.
The event will contain both formal talks and informal group workshop sessions, so please specify which style of presentation you will give within the abstract. The chosen speakers will be notified after the committee meeting in September 2020. The talks and workshops should last 20 minutes, with additional time allowed for questions.
Registration and booking details will be posted in the autumn, including details of accompanying tours.
